BEYOND MEGAPIXELS!
Compass Communications assisted Sony Ericsson with the launch of their latest Sony Ericsson Cybershot 5 Megapixel camera phone the C902, during August and September 2008. The main aim was to drive sales in the top 22 Vodacom, 20 MTN and 10 Cell C store nationally – so Compass recruited Techno savvy girls and guys to do just that! To ensure the objectives were achieved, Compass implemented an incentive programme, dividing the stores into 2 groups:
The first 24 stores were in KZN, E Cape, W Cape and Free State and the second group of 28 were all in Gauteng. There were 10 prizes up for grabs in each region ranging from R1 500 to R200. Although sales was the main criteria, the Brand Ambassadors were also rated on their performance through supervisors and mystery shopper visits in store, plus how insightful was their feedback week on week. The top promoter from Group 1 – Shiren Maharaj from Durban – sold over 100 units in the 4 weeks of promotion and was by far the best performer in the country. The feedback received is that he’s a born salesman – well done Shiren! Congratulations to all the winners:
This is what the store managers had to say about the top 3 promoters in each group
Group 1: KZN, E Cape, W Cape & Free State
1st place awarded to Shiren Maharaj – Vodashop Gateway manager, Neeraj, said “I am exceptionally happy with all the promoter’s performance. They were all helpful and really good with the customers, with over 100 units sold in that time, so very pleased overall.”
2nd place awarded to Nicole Lakey – MTN Canal Walk Store Manager, Nolene Bailey said, “Interacted well with customers and good support to the staff. I was very happy with the sales – we sold out during the campaign!”
3rd place awarded to Sunveer Singh – MTN Pavilion Store Manager, Farida Shaik, said “These promoters have been excellent. They have been amazing in their interaction with the customers. This is a need at our store. Sales on this is booming.”
Group 2: Gauteng
1st place awarded to Angus Donnelly – MTN The Glen manager, Gavin, said “He is up to date with product and services that the phone offers. He is also good in interacting with clients - he does not just stand around like most promoters. He increased the sales because it helps to have a live model for client to see or play around with the phone. But I think you guys could see yourself from the stats that were provided.”
2nd place awarded to Jono Leahy – Managers, Ishmail & Lifa from Vodashop Northgate & Cell C Cresta, both said, “Excellent promoter with excellent sales!”
3rd place awarded to Bonolo Maboa – Manager, Ernest from Vodashop Fourways ,said, “Promoter was good. Sales were excellent when the promoter was in store.” William from Cell C Fourways said, “Wonderful, great!”
